Good News: School open every Saturday (Registration required)

January 20, PTA Bake Sale: The PTA is hosting its monthly bake sale on Wednesday November 20th during lunch; In addition to baked goods we will also be selling our new PS/IS 30 Coffee Mugs for $10 and PS/IS 30 Bumper Stickers for $2. All proceeds will contribute to ongoing PTA needs and activities. If you would like to buy one of these items at another time you can email Meagan at meagan421@hotmail.com.

PS/IS 30 Steam Leadership Team

As part of PS/IS 30’s Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) initiative, our middle school students have joined together to launch our school’s first STEAM Leadership Team.  
 
Each Wednesday during NIA, our STEAM leaders are working together to plan and implement “Go Green” projects around our school with Ms. Tart and Ms. Moustapha. Many of the projects completed by the STEAM leaders will focus on beautifying and enriching our school environment.  
 
In an effort to keep PS/IS 30 eco-friendly, the STEAM leaders will be participating in an ongoing paper-making project where they will transform shredded paper scraps that would normally be discarded into beautiful, handmade stationary.
 
Recently our STEAM leaders planned and hosted a Daffodil Bulb Planting Event with our kindergarten, first and second grade students outside of our Early Childhood Annex Building. The STEAM leaders taught the elementary students about the life-cycle of daffodils as well as how to plant and care for the bulbs. Thanks to the STEAM Leadership Team, our elementary students planted dozens of bulbs in the front garden of the Annex Building. We are all looking forward to seeing the daffodil flowers this spring! Thank you to New Yorkers for Parks‘ Daffodil Project for donating the bulbs to our school!

K- Parents: Meeting with Ms Heeraman

As part of open door policy, the principal, Ms Heeraman is available to meet K-2 parent every Tuesday to discuss whatever topic they like.

Ms.Heeraman will be available on Tuesday January 12, 2016 from 2 -3 pm in her office to meet any K-2 parents specifically  who like to meet, discuss and have questions for her.
